Ecuadorian educator, producer and musician, begins his double bass studies with teachers Luis Arias and Rodrigo Becerra. Later he continued his independent studies with Rodrigo Becerra until in 2013 he obtained a scholarship to study at the University of Southern Mississippi under the tutelage of Dr. Marcos Machado who is his current professor. William has participated in master classes and festivals in Brazil, Argentina and the United States such as Femusc (Brazil), Festival das Montanhas (Brazil), International Double Bass Festival San Juan (Argentina), and Premier Orchestra Intitute (USA). In addition, he has taken classes with bassists such as Thomas Martin (UK), Catalin Rotaru (Romania), Dr. Michael Cameron (USA), Bill Schettler (USA), Andrew Anderson (USA), Thibault Delor (France), Pedro Gadelia (Brazil) ), Gabriele Ragghianti (Italy) among others. Valencia has given classes and attended the Second International Festival of Contrabajo Latitud Cero in Quito-Ecuador and the International Double Bass Festival of Cusco in Cusco-Peru in 2018.

Valencia has played in groups such as the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Ecuador, The Philharmonic Orchestra of Ecuador, National Symphony Orchestra of Ecuador, South Symphony Orchestra Festival, The University of Southern Mississippi Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble (USM), Symfonic Winds (USM), Band of Fesmusc, Festival das Montanhas Orchestra, Meridian Symphony Orchestra among others. Currently the professor and director of the Mississippi Strings program in the WorX Performance studio and teaches in the public schools of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, United States. He recorded 2 CD with he Wind Ensemble of the University of Southern Mississippi for Naxos. He is pursuing his master’s degree in music performance at Temple University. In addition, he is the executive director and founder of Bass Producción Integral Artística and the director of the Guaranda International Music Festival.


He has also won second place in the string competition at the University of Southern Mississippi in 2017 and has won honorable mention for the William T. Groover soloist competition in 2018. He has also been a winner of the Institute funds of Promotion of Art, Creativity and Innovation of the Ministry of Culture of Ecuador for 2 consecutive years and the Guaranda International Music Festival won the Latin-American fund Ibermúsicas.
